In Memory of
Kathy
TePas
1948-2002
Founder of Ohio K9 Search Team, Inc., 1990
Occupation: RN. Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
Special Thanks From Kathy to:
K9 Molly, who taught me how to train a search dog.
K9 Penny, who taught me how to unconditionally trust your search dog.
K9 Rider,
who taught me how to let go.
Thanks to Jack Coon (WV) who helped me make sense of map and compass.
My biggest thanks goes to our team. I learn something every time I
work with any of you. I honestly feel when you stop learning from your peers;
its time to get out of the business. Thank you all for all your hard
work and understanding as we grew as a team. It was a true pleasure working
with all of you.
This type of work to me is all about the victim and about putting something
back into the community with your dog. I enjoy learning from the dog rather
than the dog learning from me. This is necessary in this discipline.
My philosophy about the team is that I know I will have done my job as President
well if the group can keep going on without me, which you have and Im
sure you will continue. While most of the credit goes to the team, its
a rewarding feeling for a leader to have played a part. You all are a wonderful
and diverse group of talented people. Keep on learning from everyone you work
with. Again, its been a pleasure working with you all.
