Ohio
K-9 Search Team, Inc.
is a non-profit, volunteer organization of trained dog/handler teams on-call
to assist authorities with lost or missing people.
The
Ohio K9 Search Team, the oldest K9 search team in Ohio, was formed in
1990 and fielded its first operational dog in 1991. All of the dog teams are
trained to standards that are registered with NASAR. They have also been evaluated
according to the standards of the Ohio Federation of K9 Search Teams.
Since becoming operational, Ohio K9 has received over 150 call outs or contacts
from official agencies throughout the state. All requests for response have
been from the agency in chargeof the incident. This is usually law enforcement,
fire departments, park rangers, watercraft officers, and Ohio EMA.
Our team has assisted agencies in
searching rural and suburban areas for missing people due to floods or other
natural disasters. Ohio K9 also has the capability to assist agencies in locating
victims of crimes or victims who may be submerged in lakes, reservoirs and/or
streams.

The unit is available without charge, day or night, to any official agency.
